Oil Change 2015 3.5L EcoBoost Just Completed
First time doing it and it took a while but now that it's done it's going to be a breeze next time. Also note that it does take 15 minutes for the "remainder" of the the oil to return to the sump. I was using a 2 post hydraulic lift and I thought taking the oil filter was going to be easy, but it's not. There is a "Oil Pan" under the filter with a hole in the rear for drainage and a path to drain from the front. The oil drain plug is facing the passenger tire, it should be marked from the factory with a line, if it isn't marked take something to make a line to the pan and to the bolt so you know where to stop to tighten it because I don't know the torque specs. I hope I didn't forget anything. This is for the 2015 3.5L Ecoboost.

Did you watch any You Tubes prior to doing this? Was wondering if there was one for the 3.5. I've heard it's a bit of a hassle with some covers or whatever. I looked for a you tube but couldn't locate one and soon I'll be hitting to 3000 mile mark and will be changing the oil. Tks.

I attached a picture of something similar you will see under your truck, it's the black looking cover, you do not need to take the other cover off with the holes in them although I did thinking I needed too and just wasted time.

I'll be draining my factory fill at 1500 and putting a fresh filter on. It's probably pointless, but I'd rather just do it. I have a free oil change waiting for me at my purchasing dealer but I like doing it myself. I'll also be switching to Redline or Amsoil 5w20 and a royal purple filter and probably not changing it again for 10k miles.

Ford - you don't need to change your oil before 10,000 miles or the indicator tells you to.
Customer - ok, I think I will change it way, way sooner.
Ford - but we told you there is no reason to.
Customer - ok, but I will anyway.
Customer - why do car dealers constantly send you stuff pushing maintenance services that you don't need?
Car dealer - because many people will do them anyway without noticing that the manual doesn't list it...
