FWIW - Both myself and my bud bought '16 RCSB's with the rusty drive shafts and they both are glass smooth. If fact, all my RCSB's had steel shafts and all were great.
Yours may very well have an out of balance shaft, anything's possible.

I believe the use of lightweight aluminum is for horsepower gain and not for better balancing.

Rattle fix didn't work either, as expected, so I'll give em a call next week to see if I can get them to check the DS balance. I know steels are sought after these days for their durability, the new ZR2 parts catalogue even has a GM-made steel DS to replace the aluminium one that goes horribly out of balance after just one hit on the trail.

What's up fella's, I am one step closer to getting into a new truck and looking for some info. I created a new post in the 2015 section but wanted to get some exposure in this thread as it is specific to my configuration.
I will be ordering a truck soon and wondering if it is necessary to get the lowest gear ratio available. My configuration will be a regular cab, short bed, 4x4. Truck will be a daily driver, will put about 25,000 miles a year on the road. Will upsize the tires a little to 285/70-17, will be towing a small boat around 2000 pound total package. A little off-road action when hunting or fishing but nothing crazy.
Whatever rear axle I get I will spec the electronic locker, just not sure on what ratio I should get. Most of the trucks that are inventory have the 3.55 rear. The regular cab, short bed in XLT is a rare find on a lot and I am getting better pricing on an ordered truck than if it were inventory.
