Default Platinum Grille on XLT

Does anyone know if a Platinum grille is a simple swap on an XLT?

What would a fair price on a used one be?

Should be a simple swap. I would say a fair price would be $400-500 for used if it's in good shape. I think they're $650-750 new?

What have others done to get the Raptor styling with the integrated factory front facing camera?
Did you get your camera installed? I was checking and the 2018 Raptors have a bracket that mounts the camera and washer fluid centered below the "O & R". I haven't purchased my grill yet but this was a consideration for me. OEM parts run approx $25 from dealer. All you'll have to do is cut the honeycomb as shown on this pic to fit the bracket. Worth a shot in checking it out .

Got too good of a deal on this to pass it up - Lariat grille will probably be for sale soon.

Build looks awesome! Just one question... I just ordered the same grill and it should be here in a couple days, I also had the same original grill that you had. And I also just ordered the four-light strip from Custom Auto Works to add to the STX grill. But I noticed in the Custom Auto Works installation video, they show a grill "shutter" that goes behind the grill, and it appears to have some sort of electrical plug attached to it on the top. Is this shutter also on your original grill, or is this something I need to add with the new STX style grill. Seems odd... unless I missed it somewhere, I haven't heard of anyone mentioning this part of the STX grill conversion/mod. Thanks!

I added the Raptor style lights and I really like the way they come out. The camera ported over from the Lariat grille just fine. The whole ordeal was easier than expected.

I’m happy to answer any questions.

Default Grille shutters

The shutters are a storage piece that help with mpg. I removed mine.

I've heard they will throw a code if you just disconnect them. So should leave the motor connected.

As far as I know shutters are on all trim levels and engines. Here is a picture of the connectors. The ambient air sensor is also located in the grille, along with the front camera if equipped.

Default Grille shutters

Ya, I removed the ambient temp sensor from the shutters and reattached it then then ziptied it out of the way. No cone is thrown and then I had to for the light bars.
