WTF? Apparently he neglected to tell me this was a truck the owner was using. Never mentioned a thing when talking prices, etc...
I had that happen once on a BMW, had like 1500 miles on it. I told the sales guy I wasn't gonna take it cause it was used, he tried saying it was brand new. I said yeah the title says new but the car says used, walked out and he about fell over.

Scarce? OK amount of 2015's where I am, and over 20 dealers within 2-3 hours of me all with incoming stock with build dates of November and early December.

I honestly don't know how much of a discount one should expect on a demo car, but I'm not paying the same as I can get a new one from any of 20 dealers next month.

Plus it would have been nice if I had been told upfront about it.

Obviously whatever the fix, hopefully it's permanent.

My 2009 Lariat had a moonroof and every 6 months or so the headliner at the rear of the moonroof would loosen and drop down a couple of inches. The headliner was fastened with Velcro and after time the adhesive would fail and it would drop. The dealer would fix it no charge by adding new strips of Velcro. But the fix was never permanent. The problem was more of an annoyance rather than a big deal. Just before I traded it in, I replaced the Velcro again.

I stopped by my dealer today because I wanted to see the interior on the Platinum they had just gotten in. It was already gone (sold to rookie Texan QB Tom Savage), but I had a look at the rear doors on the six trucks they had in stock and none of them had this problem. Hopefully it is something that they are getting resolved.

For 60k I would expect a little better fit and finish. Everything else I can see on the truck is a huge leap forward. The only other thing I noticed was the tailgate wouldn't shut right. The passenger side did not fully lock in place. Then the battery died. Lol. No more opening the tailgate on the showroom floor. I'm not bashing the truck, so please don't confuse my remarks. Just some little things I noticed. And I blame all the eagle eyed people on here for bringing the small imperfections to my attention. Haha.
i have noticed more weather seals on the doors. wonder if that has anything to do with it?

On this line of thought, if you think about the typical, couple mile route most dealers have to use for short test drives, then consider the several hundred miles or more a lot-stock vehicle often gets, that type of use is the worst possible way you can use a vehicle-esp. one that's supposedly getting a proper engine break-in.
Just divide 1,500 miles by several miles each, test runs, lunch grabs, take it homes for try out and it equals use I'm not going to accept. FWIW, I always ask for an ODO reading when a "new" vehicle is getting my eye. I'm gonna ask that my new order get zero driving other than the service check ride in prep for me.

Similar thing for me on the Platinum at one of the two dealers in my area. They had it being used like a rented mule right off the bat, got in and it had Starbucks stir sticks on the passenger seat, dirt on the rugs and door sill. The salesman texted me because I just left and I told him that there is no way I'd buy that truck the way it was being treated right now.

Good news on the door thing Countrysquire. Hoping it's a fixable thing with a hinge adjustment on the ones that are out of line.

Holy smokes tough crowd.
Yes your truck is 60k but anyone who buys a job 1 vehicle needs to be damn well aware of the risk. It's a fact of EVERY BRAND a new vehicle will have it's problems. It's like the manufacturer learning to ride a bike all over again, rest assured they will fall. Evidently many of you have no idea how many moving parts are on an assembly line and when you change all those moving parts and everyone has to relearn a process of which they've kept for 5 years it's hard. Not to mention that this is the largest use of aluminum in automobile history so it's a game changer. Next stop sweating this is warranty without question and panel adjustment can be done at service departments it's not a big deal.
What it comes down to is you bought a job 1 vehicle and it's a fact of life 5 grand or 60 you will have problems with it. I love the truck to death but I'll wait till 16 or 17 for these reasons. To be honest I'm sure this thread will grow dramatically. But again, that's why you don't buy job 1.
To those that have, good for you, I'm jealous, you own a killer truck that destroys the competition and you can still say you drive the best selling vehicle in America. And that's saying something.
