I installed OEM splash guards. Problem solved with protecting the body.

Firerunner- Sorry to read. I just received shipping confirmation so hopefully mine arrived and are not damaged.

Appreciate that...If I can't find another pair I'm thinking of trying to create a hybrid out of Amp research powersteps.
I'll install a ford module & run everything to the amp steps to see If they will work together IF factory will plug into amp

Hi new to the forum and trying to stick to OEM Boards for my 2017 lariat, I currently don’t have any steps installed. I’m hoping to do it myself but not sure of the part numbers needed. If anyone could help me out with a little guidance I’d truly appreciate it! TIA!

Don’t know if you can buy a complete board. But on ford part.com. Part numbers 16490, 16A506A, 16A506B, 16A506C, 16A454 at about $950 for just one running board new.

I actually found the boards with motors and hardware for $500, I know it’s not a simple plug and play though. But not sure what else is needed to get them to work as If from factory, guy I’m buying from says he pulled off of his lariat but I know it’s a different package because mine was not originally equipped with any steps

My boards showed up today. They are filthy (you can tell the truck they came from ended up in the dirt) so when it warms I will wash them, which is hopefully this weekend. They appear not to be damaged.

Do you have a good source to help find Ford part numbers for items? I need the part number for the power running board module and the harness for each side. As I have a 502 a, the harness should come up through the floor and plug in under the seat (on each side).

To help others I'll document the process like I did with ACC/APA.

I have not changed the APIM yet, as I was going to save this for last. One change so it should be easy. I'm also hoping the bolts and mounting is the same for both sets of boards.

Thanks.

The wiring is all in the body harness 14A005 but the power lead handed off to the eng bay harness battery junction box to F50 30 amp fuse

Correct you are, Sir. I pulled my rear seats down, and in my Lariat, which has had a plug for everything else I have done, has no plugs for the running board module. There is a space for the module, but no plugs 3313A and 3313B.

No way I am replacing the body harness, and that is pricey anyway. So it's time to build one. Firerunner did an awesome job supplying all the drawings; I need to order plugs and make me harness. I was thinking this was going to be easier than what it is but oh well. I need to study the drawings a little closer to get to the MS CAN wires for the signals. My running boards came with the plugs on each end so I can solder into those. I will take Firerunner's suggestion and look in the cab for power. The power Inverter is back there so maybe that is a source. If not we'll sneak a wire up front. I don't have a truck manual and this may force me to buy one.

Let the fun begin...

As much as I agree with you, the one thing I hate about the factory running boards that are permanent that in the winter months, its real easy to slip off because the running board is more tight to the truck and its higher. I love the larger size of the power boards plus they come down a little lower then the regular boards. In my old '12 f150, I have slipped off of them at least once or twice a winter season and one time it really hurt. Now on my 2nd season with the power boards and have not slipped once. Though I do miss the fact that these boards do not protect the truck as much but I would rather have the truck take the hit then me breaking a bone or something.

Because the treads tuck up out of sight, consider installing black grip tape or anti-slip safety tape. You can find the industrial stuff at Home Depot.
