Oem led fog lights installed
#271
I like the part where people purchase trucks for some where between $30k and $60k but then complain about spending $300 for something of OBVIOUSLY BETTER QUALITY than an aftermarket part. That being said, I just ordered my set of 17 SD fogs based on photo evidence IN THIS THREAD of a superior product.

I will add that even at night standing 25 feet in front of the truck they are no brighter than running/park lights to look directly at them standing straight up. These are so cool with all downward led light from top of housing reflecting forward. Reminds me of the solar sidewalk light effect. Kneel down to almost ground level and move side to side to see the reflector effect. They are very bright below the cut off line. A good white light color....minimal if any blueness.

I have a 16 platinum and would love to have the LED lights that match the headlights....is this the upgrade I need to do?? and it seems to be an easy DIY type job?

Yes they match the LED headlights, and it might seam like a pain to remove the fogs, once you feel and see how it comes out it's a 30 second job to remove it from the housing.. just go gentle and it will come right out..look at post 249 someone made a video on how they come out

Are there any SE darker f150 fogs? I have a black truck and while I’m not trying to black it out the stock chrome headlights pop a little more than I like. So I was thinking of SE oem led headlights. Wondering what those are matched with from ford.

im not aware of a darker oem LED fog, perhaps you could tint it, but would probably take away from the lighting?
I had the morimoto fogs that are dark tint out of the box. In daylight they are a perfect match with the se led headlights..I went to the led fogs for more light, end result was not that much more light, kinda wish I didn't sell them

Yea I wouldnt tint them that would be silly. I saw your side by side...I think its not just output but the OEM fogs match the color of the OEM heads better than the morimotos it seemed.
Just looking at the front of my rig a little more...my rims are painted but I would like to end up with chrome at some point...so maybe the standard oem heads are not too much out of place. I want LED headlights bad (I test drove a 17 502a before getting the 18) but I think any aftermarket ones will be later in 18 before they are out. OEM are pricy...so I have time.

Now that is a GREAT question because the DDs do and it drives me nuts. I asked and got a couple replies from guys that have the 2018 limiteds with the LED fog lights and was told there is no flicker in the screen. But supposedly the fog lights are the same part# between the f150 and SD.
