Default OEM Ambient Mod Flow Thru Console Cupholder

Just another one of many lil frankenstein mods I am working on.

Added oem ambient lighting to my rear passenger cupholder in the flow thru floor console. Just finished the modification tonight, so no pics of it lit yet but should compliment the new oem backlit USB hub back there pretty well ...... I did this because it doesnt exist ATM in our trucks, and I thought it would look really nice. LOTS of cutting and trimming however all parts are OEM.
Cupholder is off center a lil in the pic because it wasnt screwed down just yet. lol Its now centered.

Nice, that is a great idea for the rear cup holders, I am not back there enough to even think about that. Now when I do the ambient lighting mod to the footwells, I will add to the cup holders. Waiting on the pics of them lit up.

Tom

Very cool add on. I like it. I Think I might be able to pull that off too.

Thanks You KNOW I started this from the GREAT info you provided us! I have a few other ambient upgrades that I think you would like also. Very subtle, VERY OEM in appearance. More to come in my build.

Very nice! So do you just buy the light strips and then dermel them to fit? Do they change colors with the other lights?

Yeah I thought about doing this too since I had to buy a second set for the cup holder when I broke one. But one is still good.

This is all using oem parts and wiring in to BCM and LIN so yes it changes colors with the other ambient lighting. I used the same lighting led element that the front cupholder uses and I had a spare front led cupholder that I cut/trimmed to size, so no dremeling for the leds to fit, only the cupholder base so that it fit the cupholder frame.
