cant remember if it was brought up before but when i use my lighting menu on sync3 3.0 my blue is purple and purple colour is actually pink and my green looks yellow (hard to call it green)

Gonna have to give this a try......one question though, is there a default color? Like if I was to only want the cupholder lighting, can I wire that up to an acc line and expect blue? Bypassing any module wiring in a sense.

no, you need power, gnd and data before it will turn on, sounds like you might be looking for a aftermarket soulution if you don't want to do all the wiring

I haven't totally scoped it all out, but how many wires for the data portion?

one, each location needs 3 wires. there are two different data lines, what one you use depends where in the truck the light goes, diagram is in post #1

Whos in socal and can help me do this i honestly did the forscan changes and the wiring and nothing i cant get them to light up i hqve sync 3 and the menu is there i have the lights installed and everthing

My head is spinning after reading this thread, you guys are a lot smarter than I’am that’s for sure, I’m new to the forum but can see already that thiss is going to be a great resource! So my question is I just purchased my second f-150 platinum, my 2015 had the ambient lighting and I loved it, just got my 2018 home to find that I do not have it on this one, no option in the settings menu, just expected that this platinum would have it as well, so is it easier to do this with a platinum as I’m guessing everything or most everything should be in this model to do it? Thanks in advance

you do (should) have ambient lighting you just don't have multi color and intensity ambient lighting. You can replace all your led modules with the pre 18 versions and a little forscan magic will have them like you want.
