I am a stickler on details... so just to clarify... is it a green wire with a red stripe or are you stating you could use either color? I don't mess with wire colors for something like this.
Not sure i understand your question...from my write up.
Body Control Module Wiring:
Adding the service pig tails pins to the connectors.
Circuit Color Connector/Pin
CBX07 GN-RD C2280C-4 12V Power from BCM. (Big connector)
VLN73 GY-BN C2280B-13 Bus Data. Footwell Lamp Left Front, Footwell Lamp Right Front, Passenger Instrument Panel, Floor Console Cup Holder
VDN13 BN C2280E-38 Bus Data Front Seat Driver, Front Door Handle - Left, Rear Door Handle - Left, Front Seat Passenger, Front Door Handle - Right, Rear Door Handle - Right

Then you need Ground (black).

So GN-RD = +12V power for the LED's, either GY-BN or BN for LIN BUS Data, and black for ground.
All 3 are needed to run the stock OEM LED modules.

What I mean is are those the OEM color codes for the wiring harness. i.e. GN-RD is green wire with a red stripe, GY-BN is grey wire with a brown stripe, and BN would be a solid brown wire. Want to get the wire color right before I start ordering 50' spools. Thanks!

Yes, those are correct oem wire colors, however you dont need to match them 100%. The color of the wire wont make or break the installation. 99% of the wire harness will be covered in flex loom or fabric tape either way...... notice how flsdiver did his....perfectly executed and he didnt stress over matching oem wire colors. Dont let the little details complicate this.

Correct.
In ALL connector wiring diagrams you will see posted here from Ford diagrams they ALWAYS follow the same convention of Main Color - Stripe Color.
So GN-RD is a Green wire with Red stripe.
BN no dash is a solid brown wire.

I know the electrons don't care... it's just my quirk. Much like your connector preference, I want the stock wiring color to be right, even if it's in a different harness. I noticed that tasca seems to be running a discount on the lighting assemblies today, so I'm going to go ahead and pull the trigger now!

Update: parts ordered, everything shipped was $250 for me. I even ordered the 4 13E701 parts that aren't needed because they are pretty cheap and I want to see what they are all about... they look like light pipes if I am reading this right.

When I use non standard colors on my projects I use electrical wire markers. Basically heavy duty stickers with numbers and I try to use the circuit number or closest to factory number and keep a detailed diagram with the factory circuit number and color and then my added wiring with color and circuit number

anyways the marker sticker can be found in the electrical dept at your favorites hard store

Ok, so after careful consideration I decided on which LED ambient light I will use for the map pockets.... I wanted to use the same LED as the passenger side dash however I would have had to cut up a significant amount of the underside of the floor console JUST to be able to cut a slit for the element to fit in. That would have weakened the console structure some. Next best thing....Door ambient lights modified or course. 1 on each side. Worked out great! Also changed out the media ambient with the other half of the door light, soooo now when I change colors of the ambient lighting on the MPT it will also change the color of the media light under the sliding "Sync" door. While I had the floor console out, I did ALOT of other things but pertaining to this thread, I added hidden LED strip lights and a NO switch so that they would turn off when the console lid was closed and turn on when opened. Sadly only uneventful pics are of the map pocket lights...not lit up.....cause my truck is still in a million parts...with the battery out! lol
