No LED Headlights? This is a Nice Mod!
Love the factory LED headlights on these trucks, but don't love the higher trims they come on!
So, I did the halogen bulb mod on my XLT about a year ago, and that was a BIG improvement in lighting performance, but still lacked the "cool" and "wow" of the LEDs.
This week I purchased a set of the Diode Dynamics LED color swap running light/turn signal bulbs. I swapped them in today, and they are very nice, with a good "cool" factor look. The running lights are now a nice bright LED white, instead of the factory amber bulbs, but when you click on a turn signal, they flip to amber. Very cool! They clip right in to the factory socket, couldn't be any easier to do.
One interesting note DD warns about on their website....the turn signal flasher does flash faster now due to less current for the LEDs, but the lights themselves still blink at the same speed....just the light in the meter flashes faster. I still may swap in an LED flasher, but certainly no big hurry now.
Anyway, just thought I'd share this easy, not horribly expensive (~$60/pair), but very cool mod.

I was told the flasher unit from a higher trim F150 W/LEDs would also work. But again, since the actual lights still blink at the same speed, not a big deal.
I went through the wheel well, very simple, remove one clip & 3 screws. I also prefer the wheel turned OUT vs. in, as the manual recommends.
These bulbs don't replace the headlight bulbs, but rather, the incandescent running light/turn signal amber bulbs.
Sorry for no pix, the Diode Dynamics website has some really good pix, that accurately represent the change. My horrible photography skills would not help, trust me!

You just need an LED Resistor. We sell a lot of the HP24 SwitchBacks on our site. So much in fact that we're stocking the HP24 switchbacks for all the Fords. They are great because as you said you get that nice white LED normally and they turn to amber when your blinkers go on. Real nice upgrade.
The 2015/2016 trucks don't take a flasher relay like the earlier trucks. So you need to put in an LED Resistor to "trick" the truck into seeing a bigger load (LED's use less power remember).
Check out all the DD product ready for customers (yes those are Anzos on the left...)

Discovered another cool thing about these lights....when you lock/unlock the truck with the key fob, it will flash the amber LEDs first, then switch to the white for the timed shut-off.
It's a little thing, but cool none-the-less!
