I just want to find a thread that goes into offset & tire size (that way the diameter of the rim doesn't matter) so i can figure out what I need. I tried to start one, but that didn't last long. I am of the minority that wants to downsize the rims .

Anyone know of a thread that dives into that specifically? I guess I'm also going to install a little smaller block (2") but I'm not sure that'll effect the rubbing on the crash bar too much.

Good looking truck fellas!
I too went through hoops figuring out what would fit on my 16 Screw. I'll tell you some of the things I did and learned through out my navigation of aftermarket wheels and tires.
I have a 2.5" Auto Spring leveling kit in front and I'm sitting stock in the rear( I'm in the processing of installing 3" rear blocks now though)
I originally went with a 20x10 -19 Hostile Chrome wheels with 33.5x 12.5x 20 tires. Once I installed these I was getting some rubbing on the Outside of the crash bars in full lock in reverse and even while going forward. I had to trim just a little on wheel liner on the backside of the tire too. So after much debate of cutting the crash bars I instead borrowed my buddies Porta Power and "pushed" the crash bars out a bit. I went this route primarily because of them being a safety feature but really because the tires just barely rubs them. I say I pushed them out maybe 1/4" that's it, there is really no need to cut them until you get up in the 35-37" tire range.
So after I did this I was getting no rubbing. Now if you want to clear with out making any modifications at all and want 20" wheels you need to stick to a 9" rim and stay at or above a +1 offsett.
So after a couple months though I decided I didn't care for the " Big Wheel small sidewall tire look" and started thinking about 17" wheels with a larger tire for the sidewall.
So I ended up with a 17x9 ProComp wheel with -6 offset. And after doing about a month of research I decided the best size tire without doing anymore modifications I already did to the crash bars would be a 34" tire with a width of 12" or so inches.
So the perfect size of tire I was after was a 305/70/17. This isn't a real popular size but I was able to find it on a Nitto Ridge Grappler.
I got them installed and it looks really good, I was able to clear the crash bats(just barely) but I did have to trim the wheel liner a little more though. I can add pictures of both set of wheels on my truck as well as the PortaPower set up i used if needed. Hope this helps.

Heck yeah that helps!! Yesterday I was looking at either the 295/70r17s or 305/70r17s Nitto Terra Grappler. I did find a wheel that I liked, 17x9, with a 0 offset. I don't mind at all trimming the wheel well liners, and I guess a 1/4" really isn't that big of a deal with the crash bars. I guess the biggest hurdle now would be finding someone, or some place, with a "pusher". Maybe my local motorsports shop will have one.

What do you think the difference that .5" in the leveling kit would make? As stated before, I'm basically shooting for the same set-up wheel/tire wise but have the 2" disc.

I think we'd all like to see some pics!

With the 2" level I would stick with the 295/70/17 size and you should be good. I was originally looking for a 0 or positive offset as well but I got such a good deal on m wheels I went with them even though they have a -6 offset. Since your going with a 0 offset expect your tires to stick out about a inch or so and you should have no problems. Actually if you can find some wheels with a +12 or +18 offset you should be able clear your crash bars with out having to modify them. Just some thoughts.
Also a good thing with the 295/70/17 tire size is that it's cheaper and more avaible in this size. Tire rack was running some great prices on the Dick Cepek Mud Country's for like 210$ a tire with a $100 rebate in the 295/70/17 size. As far as the Porta Power Amazon has one for around $100 if you can't get one locally.

Thanks for all the info "nuttz"! I was going to get the Nitto Terra Grappler only because I've had them before, and this truck is my commuter. I haven't seen the DC MC's though, I have a set of DC EC's on my Bronco. I may have to check them out!!

I don't mind them sticking out, I rather prefer the look actually. I'll probably have to get some flaps at some point, but I'm just excited to get rid of the stock look and those ****** Wranglers!

Here's the specs on the build:

2015 FX4 with Sport Package
502A

2.5" Autospring leveling kit
20x10 Fuel Maverick -12 offset
295/55-20 Nitto Trail Grappler

No rubbing so far, if there is it's a slight rub at full lock. I can't hear any though. Loving the look. Next up is intake in a few weeks.
Can we get some more profile shots to see the offset?
