I didn't see where they mentioned if the gearing ratios (and options) were the exact same for those trucks, but more importantly I missed the part on the 4.8L. Where did they mention anything about that?

Give it a year or so. I'm perty sure my 2.7L Sport with 3.73 e locker is one not to trifle with stock. I purchased it that way for a weekly driver but it matched with our crew trucks for later on sale. Hope one of our guys gets a 4.8l next so we can go over to the drag strip as a group next year. A advertising publicity thing with tailgate the looser tow home. Lol

On a 282 foot track I don't think anyone cares. Thanks for playing.

It's the same at 1/4 mile. All about compression and high boost levels + the awesome strong block. It is the fastest stock truck ever tested at mile high even beating GM's big one although it does loose over a half second due to altitude. Drop it down to sea level and it rocks. Waiting on the 4.8L.

Quickest stock 2015+ 5.0 I found on the board ran 14.1 @ 99 mph. What's the quickest stock 2.7?

And let the record show that you turned this "4.8" thread into a 5.0 vs 2.7 thread, even after preaching the virtues of staying on topic.

And by the way, how many 3.5 and 5.0 blocks have failed? Mustangs are making 900 hp give or take on stock blocks, what are the 2.7's making?

Well actually he turned it into the "the 2.7 is the bestest engine ever made, I don't care what you guys think, so there" thread a few pages ago. But it's been entertaining none the less.

And I'll see you and raise you a 4.8L + 10 speed.

I guess they never tested a stock 2003 F-150 Lightning then. Still can't keep up with a 14 yr old truck!
