Even with the 17's the 6 is being pushed, what else explains no V8 raptor and only 10 speeds for ecoboost? It's Ford trying to keep up with EPA, my guess is those rules change with the new administration
Automotive laws on combustion motor cars probably not? No lessoning to speak of in those driving states that have muscle. Some states are more lax (bigger skies ). I won't need another 3.5L EB. The 2.7L is that good for us. I recommend it, I wouldn't if it wasn't that good. It's always available in a F150 I do believe. I'm not going to downplay the owner satisfaction with V8 love but all around the 2.7L is better/just as good/more economical/has just the right gearing options to fit all but the most rugged uses an in that respect one should get a bigger truck.

It says something that 75% of their offerings are v6 but only managed 70% of sales.

Add to that you cannot get the v8 in some trims and it's even worse

Less torque, way less horsepower, and MPG reported to plummet when loaded or driven at spirited highway speeds. It's a perfectly good engine, but it's relatively outclassed by the 5.0. The only noteworthy advantage is in city fuel economy. If you want to compare the 3.5EB to the 5.0 you can make valid points. The 2.7 is a stretch.

So, does anyone know any details about this new 4.8L V8? Is it going to be TT charged like the Bavarian 4.4 and 4.0 engines that haul ***? Naturally aspirated? Any inside scoop on HP or TQ output?

Haha

Its still very early.Tho Ford says "It will have incredible horsepower and incredible torque" (more than the current 5.0s 385 hp/387 tq)
So I would say well into the 400s for both hp and tq but out of a 4.8,I would guess turbo (EB)
Can't see it any other way.

Damn it Ford just EB the damn thing, why fool around?
Give us a EB V8 and don't allow any of the current EB V6 buyers the option to ever buy one for all the smack they talk about our V8s.That would all be lovely.

Just a start when you don't respect a 2.7L.EB's torque in a stock F150.

Since in stock form the 2.7L can jaul *** on it would be interesting using the sport tune on one. Am sure the 4.8L/2.7L drag off is coming to your favorite UTube shortly.
