We don't really get much rain here but they're great on wet roads,

They're awesome in the snow. Everything from a foot of powder to hard packed ice/snow on the highway, they do really well. One place they struggle, because they're more of a closed lug AT design is in DEEP (2+ feet) of snow. Need an MT for that.

Only complaints are these things are so heavy it's not even funny, and hard to balance.

I have run 3 different tire sets sized sized 275/70/18 on 18x9 rims for years and never had a problem balancing the tires. And these were aggressive mud tires chucked from gravel roads. Kelly try, duratrac and a Chinese knock off mt.
Hell on my Jeep i ran 315/70/17 on 17x8 rims with no problem but it was a very light Jeep.

Have u tried lead shot or B.B? Most guys out here running 35+ will do that.

My spare is a tire (brand new duratrac) that got hit with a bobcat and sheared of a coupe lugs and it ran fine up to 100kph with lead shot in it.

Just a suggestion

They're just tough, we haven't used lead shot and stuck with road force balancing them, which has worked. Just took a few tries.

Just wondering what is the offset on your rims...i'm trying to decide if I go with the +1 offset or less...don't want to sandblast the side of the truck...
thanks

+25 offset; 17x9 w/p285/70r17

Falken AT3W p285/70r17 on Mamba M14 17x9 wheels with +25 offset
If you want the tires under the wheel well, no more than +18 offset, IMO.

I have +25 with 17x9

In the past, I have used large and heavy airsoft shot to balance tires on my Jeep. They are more symmetrical than lead shot and won't clump like tire balancing compound.

Sorry to necro-post, but what offset are/were those Fuel Mavericks? I'm trying to either (a) talk myself into going closer to 0 offset (now have +12s in another manufacturer), or to (b) talk myself into going up to 275/70R18 to "fill up" the wheel well or (c) both.
