New ReadyLift 2.25" level kit
#61
I bought the 2.5 RC leveling kit for my 2014 4X4 and once installed I remeasured everything and I only got between 1 5/8"-1 3/4" lift in the front. Called RC tech support, spoke with some young punk who told me there's no way possible I couldn't have gotten the 2.5" advertised. He said I must have done something wrong! I don't see what can possibly be done wrong while installing a leveling kit that would give 3/4" less lift than advertised.
He also told me beings that the kit was already installed the only way they would accept a return was if I removed the kit, took pictures or videos of the truck factory. Then do the same of the actual install and the same after the install and send them all of the info and if what I said was correct they would accept the return.
Well obviously i'm not going through all of that trouble (which im sure 99% of people wouldn't and they know that) to prove them wrong. My original measurements and after installed measurements are proof enough but I didn't have before and after pics either.
Needless to say this screwed up my entire build plan as I also purchased F-150 Lifts 2 3/4" rear blocks and Fox 2.0 shocks as I wanted to keep just a little rake. Could do that part of the install because with the less than 2.5" the leveling kit gave me the rake was worse than factory. Then could return any of those parts either because they had already been installed. And of course after not getting the lift I was supposed to my 275/65/20 Cooper Discoverer ST PRO's do rub at full lock.
43K miles later I'm getting close to needing new tires so I'm so now I'm looking for ways to get the original set-up I was looking for but the truck is getting close to 60k miles now (and in need of some Ford recommended maintenance) and not sure I want to drop several grand into the truck at this point.
The 2017's are looking better and better! lol

Check out crewmaster1's posts above. He is running that same tire on a stock platinum 20" wheel. Looks sharp.

I do mechanic work on the side and most of the work I do is suspension work. Ive installed at least 5-6 dozen leveling/lower kits and a dozen or so complete lift/lower kits. Ranging from Tacomas to F250s. Out of all the different brand trucks and different brand leveling kits ive installed over the years the ReadyLIFT kit has been the only one to have issues. Ive installed 2 ReadyLIFT kits both on 2013 F150s. One 2.5" kit on a 2WD(My Personal Truck) and a 2" kit on a 4X4(Very Good Friends Truck). Both kits had studs break on them within a year. ReadyLIFT did send new studs but the fact that not only were they the most expensive kits ive ever use, they also were the only kit to fail. Based on my experiences with using plenty different brand kits I suggest Auto Spring or Hell Bent Steel. The Auto Spring kit is only $225 vs the $380 for the ReadyLIFT kit.
