I will say this, I'm really impressed with the 2.7. It's way quicker than I ever would have imagined for a "basic truck". I have a few minor little things I'm planning for it, but will keep it mostly stock.
Thanks for all the kind word everybody.

The day I got the call from the dealer I bought it from, I had just finished test driving a used 2018 with 6000 miles. They were not budging off of $23500. I don't know what its in service date was, but I know my in service date in my new 2018 started last Saturday. So my new "2 model year old truck" has the full basic warranty. That was important to me.

I have bought several new leftovers for less than what I could have bought a used one for, it's like the late model used buyer never bothers to check and see
what it would cost to get into a new one, I think a lot of it is a perception thing.
People looking for a deal just assume used is cheaper.
During the great recession, when GM was selling well equipped, new trucks for 22k or so, I thought I could get a real steal on one a year old.
Not so, I could never find one with 5-6000 miles for any less than brand new.
( Once, I said '' I could get a brand new one for less! '' to the sales manager of a GMC dealer. I'll never forget his response, he didn't even argue, just said '' well, I'll sell you a new one then ''. )
Edit : I am speaking about the moderately priced truck market( like a reg cab for with a 33k sticker ), since Ford discounts these so much the new price of a leftover often falls
below used. I don't believe that I could find a new leftover with, say , 65k sticker for less than used ( although you never know ).
