Default New member, Bilstein 5160's and free shocks

Hey Guys,

Newish member here and just picked up a new 2017 Platinum with the 3.5 eco a couple weeks ago with the end of year deals and 0% financing. Lots of great info on here I’ve been reading up on. Hope to contribute as well!

So far I’ve added the BakFlip MX4 cover, had the truck ceramic coated at my buddy's detail shop and just put on the Bilstein 5160 rear shocks yesterday. Easy install, maybe 45 mins start to finish. I can def notice a difference in the ride, little firmer and feels more planted but not harsh at all. I also ordered the 6112 front coilovers to level out but they are on a 2-3 week delay for now. Will report back once they come in and I get them on.

The truck has the “off-road” package so not sure if these come with different rear shocks than a non-offroad package but in either case, I am offering the original takeoff shocks for free to anyone that would like them. Just cover the shipping from NJ and I’d be happy to give them to someone if they would be put to good use. Truck has 750 miles on it so shocks are basically new. See pics for details on the shocks.

Also, putting a feeler out here for taking off stock rims and/or tires. The truck came with the Hankook 275/55-20’s but I will be upgrading to 34” tires in next month or so, maybe rims too. If anyone local in NJ would be interested in buying the tires or platinum 20” rims, PM me and we can talk. Not interested in shipping so would have to be pickup/meetup in central jersey.

Thanks,

Joe

Great shocks. Can’t wait to see the front ones.

Nice, I’ve heard pretty positive reviews so far on the 6112’s.

Still debating but likely the full 2". I measured the front and rear now and I have a 2.5" rake, so if these get the 2" as advertised, will be just about level. Likely going with either 275 or 285/65-20's which are 34"+ tires, so should give the look I am going for.

With 34's I would definetly do the full 2 just to be on the safe side.

How much $$$ do you want for the Platinum wheels?

Asking for a friend.

Not sure John. Will have to check and see what the going rate is? I am waiting on the 6112's which are 2-3 weeks out, then install and then see my next steps for rims/tires. Once I get there, then I can really think about getting rid of them.

If you are not in a rush, I will let you know and get back with you in a month as I decide to upgrade to new wheels.

Thanks,
Joe
