Default New lug nuts install question

Am ready to swap out the OEM lug nuts for the Gorilla ones I have sitting in a box for over a month. My question is: Can you just remove one lug nut at a time while the tire is on the ground and replace with the new ones or should you jack up the wheel and remove them all and then intall the new ones? I am asking because maybe there is a slight difference in seating? IDK.

Personally, I would jack it up, but then do one nut at a time (not all at once) and put it back down and torque them to spec. Do this at all 4 corners, drive around the neighborhood, come back and re-torque all lug nuts without jacking up the truck again.

That's just how I would personally do it. But I'm no mechanic, just some Joe Schmo on the internet....

Yes you can. I’ve done it a few times after not trusting some kid at Discount Tire. Punk grossly over torqued 2-3 lugs per wheel. Loosen/tightened each one individually to retorque.

Yes that's how I did mine when I swapped them.

That's how I did mine as well (1 at a time, truck on the ground).

I would second the re-torque though. I've had a few cases where a properly torqued lug nut has come loose.

I agree with all the above comments. No need to jack it up just to swap one nut at a time.

Got it. One at a time , tires on the ground. Re torque after a run. Good to know there is no need to roll the jack out.
