Default New Idea--What do you think? 2015 QR Bed Extender

Northlight Labs is exploring a Quick Release system for the factory Ford Bed Extender and we'd like to hear what you think about this idea. We've had this feature on both our 2013 and 2015.

We like the convenience of the bed extender...but...when folded in it takes up a foot of bed width, making it nearly impossible to load 4' wide cargo.

And, the bed extender is attached with a loctited bolt that takes a size 50 torx fitting and a lot of elbow grease to remove.

(FYI, there's just over 50" between the wheel wells, the width of a number of ATVs and Side-by-Sides).

You may remember, earlier one-piece tubular aluminum bed extenders had quick release pivots that made them easy to remove.

We're looking at possibly using a quick-release push pin with locking ball detents to replace the factory bolt.

I'll share some pictures of this idea in the next few days.

Let us know what you think!

Thank you,

Northlight Labs
