Yes, it adds capacity. I bought 3 qts originally and had to go back and buy a fourth. It took every bit of the 4 qts.

Good to confirm...thanks y'all. Yes, a surprise. I bought 5qt (expecting to do both ends) so I had enough to git er done in the rear, but I had to punt on the front.

Sorry to hijack but does anyone know of a high strength steel (cast or fabricated) cover for the super 8.8 12 bolt rear? For my 2016 2.7.

I think Moser makes one. Same guys that do the axles, etc

Plenty of lube made the experience comfortable, if briefer than expected...
