Angry New 3.5 Ecoboost Problems

Getting Yalls opinion on something. I traded my 2015 Chevrolet 1500 LTZ Z71 on 3/11/2017 on a New 2016 F150 XLT Sport 3.5 ecoboost with Max tow and 302A package 3.55 gear ratio. When we went to test drive the F150 the battery was dead and required jump starting, No problem. It was raining on the test so i didnt "get on it". I took the truck home and the next morning i get in it and hear a loud whistle upon start up and idles rough. It was cold ~15 degrees, i back out of the driveway and the info display states to service Advance trac. I continue onto work and the truck starts to stumble and has no power, keep in mind the truck has 60 miles on it. I immediately take it back to the dealership after work and get a loaner truck. (2014 F150 5.0) the 5.0 has waayyyy more power than my 3.5. Fast forward a week and i get my truck back, the diagnosis was a weak battery which wasn't approved to be replaced. Whatever, i take the truck home and notice someone has curbed it or hit something as i has a scratched wheel and fender flare that is missing paint, that is besides the point. Since i got the truck back it doesn't have any bottom end and just feels kinda weak. I start the truck again today and head to the gym and again loud whistle, a rough idle, and guess what no power. I don't know what to do anymore, the truck has been in the shop more than in my possession. It has just shy of 400 miles and im already thinking of trading it in for a Chevrolet again. I have checked codes and none are present. I'm also only getting around 17 mpg on a 2wd and i drive like a grandpa.

Take it back and demand they fix it and fix it right. There's no way that a 14 5.0 would feel like it has more power than a 3.5, they should feel very similar to each other. Also the dead battery can really screw with the electronics. I would also get on their case for the damage, that is unacceptable.

You will lose a LOT of money by trading it, and if they can't get it fixed, then get Ford CSR on their case.

Why would you buy a truck with a dead battery?

Something seems off

How many times should it go back before you just give up. Ive offered for them to just let me buy a 5.0 but they don't have a 16 only a 17 and i cant have 0% financing on a 17.

What acdii said. I test drove the Chevy 5.3 before buying the '16 F150 Ecoboost and there was no competition. The Ford was a lot quicker and the Chevy couldn't seem to stay in gear, it was constantly shifting. Take a look at GM-Trucks.com and you will find problems over there also, the Chevy shake, trans issues etc. but Ford does need to repair or replace your truck soon. I might also add that I couldn't sit in the Chevy for more than about 20 minutes without my back and butt hurting but can drive the Ford for 3 hours with no problems. Apparently Chevy is aware of that and are switching seat manufacturers next year. Keep in mind this is coming from someone who always bought and liked Chevy trucks until this one.

I was actually talking to upholsterers to see if they could fix it on a new truck. Then it happened, I test drove the Ford.

Dead battery wouldn't seem to relate to the real issues here. Batteries go dead on lots all the time, which is why they have there very portable charging unit. Most of them in the showroom will often have dead batteries because people get in them and play but they don't want to run it. In this case, it seems like, in retrospect, it was a bad omen.

The dead battery may or may not have anything to do with the engine performance problem. Give your dealer another chance to fix it. If you are sure the body and wheel damage happened in their possession, tell them you expect it to be fixed. That is not unreasonable. No codes doesn't mean no problem, it just means no problem the computer is programmed to detect and set a code for.

The loud whistle and no power makes me think it's a turbo or intercooler problem.
