Just throaty, and even then is quiet in the cabin until you put the windows down.
Throaty V8s in Luxury vehicles is not a new thing and some have active exhaust to tune the sound/flow on demand.Jaguar,Range Rover,Mercedes,BMW,Cadillac,Lexus offer throaty V8s,hell even Hyundai, yes,a cheap a*s car company like Hyundai offers a V8 in their 4 door Genesis.SMH.
Since when is a new Hyundai Genesis V-8 4 door a cheap car?Used maybe but new ones are not cheap!!!

Correct on the power, but I'm right again on the fuel economy.

And YOU have demonstrated that the entire "argument" is upside down. The utility of a pick up truck is NOT HP, it is Tq.

I'll gladly give away 10HP to stomp the competition on capability.

BTW - your blown 5.0 had more HP than my 6.7 F350. Guess which one is an actual engine and which, comparatively, is a toy?

Sorry BTL, but Mike just stomped on your parade.

Another 3.5 v V8 thread......

My ice cream was yummy!

I was going to comment about this, having 10 more HP means dog **** compared to all the extra torque on the 3.5 when you need to tow or get the truck moving to pass.

At 450/500, who cares if it's a V8?

That's where the shifter should be, out of the way. It's not a stick shift, you don't need access to it all the time. Keeping it on the column increases superficial center console storage/cup holders by 50%.

It's been said over and over. The V8 is not Fords future nor the future when it comes to automobiles.

Continue your debate for your own satisfaction. The day will come when you will move on with technology and the real world or be left behind.

I can understand why some like V8 engines. It's difficult to break old habits but you're right. I never thought I would see the day when I could drive a 300 plus horsepower V6 and do everything with it without it being a V8. I've been very impressed with Ford Motor Company advance in engine technology. I find it a little strange that the only justification some people are using nowadays is that they make their modification only because they can.

I've got a feeling that V* engine are going to be fairly rare in future applications when they can accomplish as much or more in some cases with a 325 HP V6.

Makes sense. They only offer the F150 Luxury trims in the 3.5. So why would anything change for the Nav? Apparently Ford thinks the 3.5 is the luxury engine of the two.
