New 2018 Key pad inop
Hi all - Just picked up my new '18 Lariat and the door key pad is not working. It appeared that the code on the card in the owners guide does not match the code that pops up in the cluster when you do the two key tango. Has anyone else had this problem and is there away to fix it without taking it to a dealer? FORscan maybe?
BTW....love this forum! First time truck buyer and I find this site extremely informative and entertaining!
Thanks!

So, if you use the code that pops up in the cluster, does it work?

I just tested my 2018 Lariat. The 5 digit number on my SecuriCode card is different than the 5 digit code that appears on my cluster (after placing the two Intelligent Access Keys in the backup slot). Both of these factory 5 digit numbers unlock my truck. Additionally, my personal programmed code also unlocks the truck. All three numbers unlock my truck.

Sounds like you'll need to go back to the dealer.

Remember there are 2 numbers per button. Do the 2 different numbers atleast matchup to the buttons? Doesn't answer why they don't work but wonder if they are the same button sequence.
Here's the BCM line for the keypad. Worth looking at if you have forscan.

I don't have for scan yet but will be getting it after I take it back to the dealer to figure this out. I don't want to risk messing anything up before they have a chance to look at it. Hopefully its only my truck and not a bunch built around the same time.
Off to the dealer it goes..... :-{

So just closing the loop on this. Dropped it off at the dealer this morning on my way into work and within a couple of hours I got a text from my service rep stating that it was just a loose connection on the back of the key pad. All good! Just a quick shout out to Jen Coselman at Varsity Lincon for helping me get my tuck in, getting me a MKZ loaner and staying on top of the repair!
