New 2015 Screw 3.5 Eco Repair
Just wanted to begin sharing my experience as I work through an unfortunate situation.
I purchased my brand new vehicle (Screw 3.5L Eco with Sport Pkg) on Saturday... Sunday when driving I had several diagnostic lights (traction control, airbag, 4x4) lights come on and go into what I believe after researching is "limp" mode. <50 miles put on by me. Called sales rep and had it towed back to dealership
Due to the immediate issue(s), I requested to just undo the deal, but unfortunately my trade in was already sold to a wholesaler.
It has been at the dealer since Sunday. They first found a wire that was kinked/pinched behind the front driver headlight, and then extended all the way down the passenger side. They replaced that section (assume it was patched, not the entire wire replaced). Did not fix the issue.
Now they are checking a sensor (by borrowing one from another vehicle). As I get more details I will let you know.
The service department has been informative, transparent and apologetic. No complaints there... The sales team has been fairly distant, just indicating that service will take care of me.
In general, with an issue right off the bat, I am a little leery of the vehicle and really just want my old 2006 scab back. But I suppose it's too late. I'll keep you all in the loop as I go through this and let you know how it is handled.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? Any advice?

That sucks...nothing you can really do though except wait on the fix.

Thanks for the sympathy! Still waiting to hear if they have discovered what the problem/fix is... As I know more I will share it.
Does anyone think that they (and/or Ford) should/might consider giving an additional warranty considering the circumstance?

It doesn't hurt to ask, especially if it is down for an extended time or goes in for multiple trips.

Update: They replaced a sensor and it apparently has fixed the issue. No more loss of power/lights after they had a tech drive it home.
I should be getting it back this evening. I'll let you know if I have any reoccurrences.
Thanks!

This stuff cracks me up. That'd be the day some tech takes my brand new 50k truck home... I know what those guys do to cars..

All - Got the truck last night and it appears to be working as expected. The tech talked with me for some time and apparently the Ford engineers were involved on this case as well. There was a pinched/kinked wire that was causing a spike in voltage which was causing the many check engine lights and limp mode to turn on.
Here's to hoping no recurring issues or other issues occur. Now I can finally be excited to have the new rig!
