14 years with the same truck, wow!
If you want to keep your new one for another 14 years, get the V8 and forget the EB.
Reliability is still an issue, no matter what others will say. Some members here put 100k miles on their 2.7 or 3.5EB without any issues, but no one can say they had their EB for 15 years without issues time and distance is a whole different thing!
Difference in fuel consumption isn't considerable IMO... 16/18/22 EPA for the V8 and 19/24/21 for the 2.7EB. As soon as you hear the spooling, you're consuming as much as the V8.
