Default Long McArthur Ford

Check out Long McArthur. I'm out of Texas but they were willing to order whatever I wanted and they "said" they would treat it as a lot truck for the rebates. I wound up finding a perfect one on the lot for a great price so i didn't go that route. On the googler they are about 2 hours west of you.

I'm just waiting for them to ship it to my doorstep.

You drill a hole and, in most cases, use an NMO mount. It's very satisfying drilling a 3/4" hole in the roof of your brand new $50-70K F150. It's even more satisfying doing it in the roof of a quint that sold for north of $1 million!

OP, I'm doing the same thing, for the purposes of emergency response and comms... only difference is, I run an ARE DCU topper and mount the antennas there. 6 NMOs going on this truck, each one running a PCTel multibander.

Thanks everyone for all the advice, I really appreciate it. I did have a little luck using the very limited Ford search engine (why can't they allow us to get more granular in our searches), and found a few white Lariats without a moon roof (by bringing up window sticker on each result), but have had less luck trying to get a decent price on any of them. The sad thing is, my local dealer has one that would work, but just won't come down on it at all. I'll play the waiting game for now and see if things change when the lots fill with 2019s.

Also seems that nobody wants my old one, giving me offers of $15K or thereabouts. So maybe selling on CL is what I should do. Anyone have experience doing that? I've always traded, but it seems wrong when a truck loses 2/3 of its value in 4 years. What, are they now simply disposable after one use like everything else in our society?

Really love my 2014 XLT+ (it's my 9th F150), but it's gonna be over 100K miles in another couple of months (I run about 25K a year) and I've dropped about $2K on a new set of coils (one went bad) and a new throttle body (died on the freeway at 80mph and left me coasting). I used to trade every 2 years for about $10K, but that seems nearly impossible nowadays.

As for the antennas, yes, NMO mount all the way. Nothing like drilling those holes and running the cables above the headliner. There will be 5 on the new one (old one only has 3, but often use 2 mag-mounts for temporary testing, which won't be possible on aluminum). Slightly OT, but interesting nonetheless, CalFire has a technical brief that concludes duct-taping a mag-mount to an aluminum body works fine for temporary use. They didn't say how much paint gets pulled off when you remove it though

OP, if you want to get a good price on a truck you need to look at XLTs, Ford really gives rebates on the XLTs with the 302A pkg, i got $5500 in rebates on mine back in the spring. They never have and never will offer those rebates on the Lariats. If you get $1500 in rebates you are doing great

Still looking? Here's one in Cincinnati OH, same dealer I bought from. White with medium grey interior. SCrew, 4x4, 2.7 EB 10-spd, XLT trim, 302A pkg with some nice upgrades like Voice Nav, rear slider, XM radio, tow pkg, and the 36 gal tank plus the inverter you're looking for. Been on the lot for awhile--build date of Nov 2017. $38,944.

My 2016 SCREW - Lariat - does not have a moonroof. I got it out of Canada. It was also spec'd with the cold weather package and block heater. So maybe no moonroof is more common north of the border?

Some really good options posted in this thread. I like that XLT with flow through console and tan interior. (Probably because it is summer and that just looks cooler than any other combo.)

Hope you didn't spill the beans to the salesman about what you need. No incentive to play ball when they know they're the only team in the game.
