I recently installed the CarPlay usb. CarPlay works fine but I wanted to update from v2.0 to 2.3. I downloaded the files per fords website and followed instructions to a T. When trying to install it will say software update and eventually cycle through. I left the usb in like ford said and it just keeps saying software updating. I left my truck running yesterday for almost an hour and it still didn’t update. So today I get a message to remove usb, update has completed. So I left the truck off for 30 minutes or so but it still says V2.0!!! WTH did I do wrong????

Give it some time to process. Sounds like it took an unusually long time to load the files for updating so just give it a day or two and see.

Btw for those wondering its perfectly fine just to throw your usb with the update on it in the vehicle usb port and let it run and if you need to shut it off in the process (like you drove to the store or something like that). It will just pick up where it left off.

Thanks for the reply. I did the update Saturday and it still shows 2.0. Should I switch the usb hubs back out not sure if that matters?

No you don't have to switch the hubs. I would do a master reset and then view your about screen on sync and see what version it says it is at make sure gracenotes is still there. If it is still at the old version and GN is still there I would then run the update again.
