I also recommend just washing these with the same car wash for the rest of the vehicle. Even if a cleaner says it's safe for PVD I wouldn't use it. No degreaser either. If you want to shine your tires then stick with water based formulas.

I have this same exact issue. 3k miles out of the 3/36 warranty and Ford has been no help despite my repeated requests. Maybe I'll just find a set of Sport takeoffs and have tires swapped but this is BS.

Lol, I bought these wheels off a guy for 400$and then had my buddy color match them to my truck. (Black metallic) He worked at a dealer and said the chrome was flaking so Ford gave him a new set. Best looking wheels IMO. PIC was right after I got tires so you see a little butter around the wheel.

Those are definitely the best looking wheels this truck has ever came with!

I've got the same problem with my PVDs from on my 2016 Larry. Looks terrible; enough Canadian roads have just destroyed them around the edges, plus a second set of tires put on the truck probably didn't help.

I don't really like the chrome anyway, so I'll likely swap them out. No point in getting them refinished when you can get other Lariat and sport take offs for the same price.

I'm tempted to see how silver sharpie or paint does just to make them look a little better from far, but I don't want to make them worse in case I flip them. Even if somebody wanted them for winters, they'd still command a few bucks.

So... My Service Rep called me just a little while ago, and Ford approved replacing 3 of my wheels. (I wish it were all 4, but I guess you have to take what they give you.)

I'll probably go ahead and replace the tires while I am at it.

I found a couple of small spots on the 4th wheel... very minor, but still there... I took photos and sent them to my Service Writer.. he is asking Ford to replace.... We shall see.

Thanks for that link to OEM Match wheels... I may have to use it for one wheel.

If you do replace the one rim with oem match, would you please come back and let us know what the quality is like compared to the "real" ones.
Mine looked milky from day one, not mirror like at all. Now my rears are chipping. Thanks Prof.

Anyone try plastic dip? They make a kit for wheels. Wondering how it would hold up.
