My "Chrome" is flaking off my wheels...

So.. the Chrome Like Coating is coming off my wheels on my 16' Lariat... Still Factory Tires - 3 of them are flaking bad... while One is doing OK so far.

I took it in today, and they took photos and we filled out the paperwork, to see what Fords response will be.

Just inside your 36 warranty period? Or did you get Ford to buck it up after warranty period?

I have 2017 Lariat and just had the same issue. The dealership took pictures the first time but ford wanted the tires dismounted to get better shot. Had this done last Monday and approved by Ford last Friday. Just got a call replacements are in already. This is a common problem a the where the tire meets rims.

Ram paints a strip around the edge to avoid this. Or at least they used to.

Yep, mine did I the same thing. Mines 1 month out of 3/36. Dealer told me nothing he can do. You would think Ford would at least change suppliers. I went back and checked this forum and this problem started in 2016 with the 2015 models.

It's a common problem, but interestingly enough, mine still good with 65,000 miles on them. I figure it's because I live in the south and don't have a bunch of salt and crap eating away at them.

Wow that looks terrible... My PVD's still look brand new on my 2015. I take the truck though a car wash also.
