My 5.0 gas milage stinks...
Im sure this has been covered and im gueesing there is no fix, but my 16, 5.0 4x4 average mpg is about 14 with 95% highyway driving. I drive 60 miles round trip every day to work, 98% freeway, mostly flat, some mild rolling hills and i keep it at 70mph. The best i have ever had was 16.5 with stock tires. I knew the 33s would lower it, but the stories of 20+Mpgs are crazy to me. I have the 3:55 rear end. Anybody think its worth takin in or can these trucks just be that much different?? I dont think i could get 20mpg at 55mph downhill!
Ps. I didnt buy this truck to save $ on fuel, im just shocked at what others get for mpgs

I have 3.31 in my 4x4 2016 5.0 Screw 6.5'.
I can't get better than 16mpg either....there's no way these things get 20mpg!!!
I've been as easy driving it as I can. Somewhere around 1800 or 1900 miles on it now.

Buddy, you have 33" tires a 4" lift Crew cab long bed. What did you expect for mpg ?
I'm sure someone at stock height, tires , a short bed or non crew would do much better.

Lots of folks on here claim to have 6" lift with 35's and they get 20+, I guess i shouldnt believe everything i read on the internet!!! I was stock for 8000 miles and could barely get 16 out of her

2015 FX4, 3:73, leveling kit and stock 18's. I drove from Woodstock, GA to Soddy Daisy, TN (121 miles plus up a mountain) and averaged 19.6 for the trip, driving 70-75 on the highway

They either have really good drugs or really bad math or they trust the computer reading after inaccurate speedometer calibration.
Really accurate MPG should be hand calulated and done when filling at the same station and pump.
