When I did mine there wasn’t anything you just have to figure out on your own or get ahold of a guy called mcdan85 on a focus forum just google his name and he can do all the programming for under $100 then u just load it into your modules

The other question I had was regarding navigation. If i buy a unit that comes with navigation. Do I have to buy an antenna or something separately to make it work or does the F150 already have one built in standard? Thanks in advance for any info.

Yea if you have the 4” u need adapter harness if you have 8” you just need wiring adapter for usb hub. My 18 had gps antenna built in I think most trucks do for emergency services stuff that’s built in on most trucks

ok. So I found a 8”inch MFT in a scrap yard from a 2015. I have a 2018. My understanding is that i will just need to swap my my 4” inch radio out and get the wiring harness for the usb hub..and the hub. Everything else should be plug and play. No additional adapters needed.

Could you link to where you found them selling just the bezel? I couldn't find it on either site.

any one selling a bezel ? Also, I don’t think its been mentioned but Is it possible to use a bezel that has more features say heated seats and the like? I got all my parts except the bezel. My original bezel has only the HRW function, however the one i’m looking at has more as it came off a higher end F150. Will it work? Im hoping it would and just not have the said features.

There has been people who swap in power heated and cooled seats I think into trucks that already have the power function they have to add wiring but the dual zone heating and ac will never work correctly single zone trucks have different hardware they look like they work right but they don’t let u have different temps. I did a thread awhile back that had all the part numbers for all the years and what they come with I got mine for $120 shipped off carpart.com through a yard in PA to Oregon it’s kind of hard to navigate that page though I think it’s found under A/v or something if you have ford etis and the vin u can look up what the truck had from the factory if they don’t show a picture.

Default Worked

Finally made the leap. Backed up my as built modules. Then i made the swap using a 2017 screen/apim and a 2018 bezel (base) . Every thing worked plug and play on my f150 2018 xlt. No issues. Also used usb recommended by rob, instead of waiting for the original i bought from ebay to ship. Working great thus far... thank you all for this thread.

So this worked? Only usb hub “wiring harness” with an 8” screen? 18 xlt here too. Everything mounted up like it was supposed to? Just plug and play?

edit:
i misunderstood. But again, only screen/APIM off another truck and usb harness? Did you have to program anything?

So i used a screen and apim from a 2017. A bezel from a 2018. A wiring harness cable from 4d tech its $80 and allows your new usb hub to draw power from apim. A new usb hub for apple play / android. Unless you don’t want it. About $600 total for me. But every thing worked plug and play.
