$ for my 2018 5.0 4x4 Lariat?

I have a white 2018 Lariat with 5.0, 4x4, trailer tow pkg. Being Lariat I guess the other fluff (leather, backup assist, sunroof, etc) is pretty much standard. New KO2 tires 5K miles ago. Undercover solid hinged bed cover, otherwise bone stock. 52K miles, mostly hiway. Excellent condition, no dents/scratches cept for some tiny gravel dings here/there.
So I got this set up expecting to buy a light RV after I retired. Now I’v realized I wont be doing that. I’d rather have a 2.7L and am considering trading up to a new one.
What yall think the max $ I can sell this for private sale?

I think you can list it for $39,148.00 and see what happens. Define your own bottom line on the minimum amount you're willing to take.

all depends what someone is willing to pay. Its hard to say really

What does CarMax, Carvana, etc offer? You are going to lose your arse selling and buying a new one especially if your only reason is to go from the best engine to the worst. Not sure what you are trying to accomplish there as I don't think the 1mpg better fuel mileage is going to cover for the financial hit.

also keep in mind when you trade you get the difference between the vehicles for tax purposes. you would only pay taxed on the difference in amount. that usually enough to cover the difference between private party sale and trade in value and you dont have to deal with tire kickers.

I literally spent years shopping for a truck. My favorite two sites were Carfax used car sales and CarGurus. Look in your area within 100 miles for similarly equipped trucks and see what they are asking and what those sites say is market value. That will tell you what they think your truck is worth based on market data. KBB estimates are probably pretty solid though. If you have good service records you can get a premium.

I think the 2.7L is a proven & reliable mill. Some ppl will have problems with every engine. But your point about only 1-2 mpg better mileage is def on my mind. My main obj is to trade every 5 yrs to avoid mech problems ot at least be mostly under warranty if they arise.
Aside from the oil use issue that was fixed by reprogramming under warranty, I love this truck. Most luxury I ever had in a veh and enjoy romping on the gas once in a while to hear the coyote growl

I loved my 2.7 in my 2018, only had one little hiccup but thats it. That little engine was a power house

Yeah I respect wanting a new vehicle every so often. 5 years is a pretty aggressive replacement cycle though especially if your goal is simply reliability. You'll spend a LOT of money doing that though for vehicles with tons of life left. It will always cost more to replace than to fix the old. Perhaps buying new will decrease your likelihood of being stranded. Have you considered going backwards instead of forwards? Buying a restored older F-100 for instance? They are super simple and very little on them to actually break. Not to mention they won't lose value (probably increase). I have considered it myself. A mid-60's-70's F-100 would be great. Biggest thing with a classic truck is the lack of crew cab offerings.
