Default ThIS much rust on a brand newly built 2018? In the summer?

I have a 2018 fx4 screw. I went underneath there today...so much rust. This truck had a build date of June 22, 2018. Less than three months old! In the summer! Incredible. All over the differential, which I read I could clean up and coat with something...but all over the front axles and hubs as well? In a 46k truck? Wtf...

That's normal and nothing new, same on almost every vehicle, if it bothers you spray the areas with rubberized undercoating..

I wouldn't use rubberized undercoating over rust, it would continue to rust and flake off later.

Try something like Rustoleum Rust Reformer or POR-15 (better).

Just surface rust. It`s Not a problem/defect. The parts are designed to get that rust. Won`t hurt anything.

I’ve heard the 47k trucks don’t get rust.

All those parts are bare metal. Buy a replacement of any of them at a parts store and they would be the same way. Once they get a surface coating of rust they don't rust as bad from there on.

Agreed, I'd just take $.50 and would still be in good shape.
Any truck MSRP of $27K to $62K will do the same thing.
