Most Important Features to You When Purchasing

When you decided to buy your truck, just what exactly where the most important features to you? What did it have to have or be able to do?

For me, I have to like the way it looks, otherwise I would never enjoy driving it regardless of features, cost, performance or anything else.

When it came to checking all the boxes the F150 was the only one that came close to checking all the boxes. What was it that steered you to the purchase you made?

I was coming from a 2012 Mazdaspeed 3 when I was looking for my next vehicle. I had experienced some severe winter storms and the Mazda just wasn't cutting it. I knew I HAD to have AWD or 4X4 for my next vehicle. I loved the utility of a hatchback, so some above average utility was also a must. I also despise crossovers, I just hate the way most of them look, not to mention MOST lack any kind of balls.

I started by looking at Subaru WRX and STI. No go since they no longer came in a hatch. VW Golf R was nice, but I couldn't bring myself to buy an almost $40K Golf. Plus it used a haldex AWD system which meant it's mostly FWD, which is fine, would just have preferred something like the Subaru or Audi Quattro system. Speaking of Audi, I love the look of their A4 but really wanted an S4. If they offered an S4 Avant for 2017 I'd be in that more than likely. But, no wagon, so no Audi. I looked at a Jeep Rubicon but they're ugly and the interior was essentially crap, not to mention SLOW. I then began looking at trucks. BOOM. F150 had the looks, 4X4, extreme utility, power, quick for what it is (faster than my Mazda), and had a fantastic interior. There was no looking back. The F-150 had it all for me. I've had it since April of this year and I truly could not be happier with the purchase. I do miss zipping around in a smaller car sometimes, but the F150 is hard to beat in overall usability and day to day comfort.

That's my story. Anyone else care to share theirs?

This is my fourth Platinum in six years and my 9th new F150. This one had to be red! The first one was and I have not been happy with any other color so now I am back to red. Since it is a Platinum it has everything and nothing else was an issue.

Only thing I have ever done to my XLT Fords was change the cloth seats to leather and heated (Katzkin) , now my wife has a 17 escape with heated steering wheel. I would add that as a must with the previous mentioned, never ever thought this would be a must accessory til I drove hers after auto start.

Oh after edit one more. I added remote access app to start from cell. Wasnt sure where I would use it but when I am out of range such as a mall in the winter it is worth the 50 per year.

Had to be a Scab, so that ruled out several trim levels.
Had to be a 6 speed auto, that limited engine choice.
There had to be a package that removed as much chrome as possible.
Had to have a back-up camera.
It was time for Race Red..

I got tired of fighting rust so the aluminum was what sold me. I had to have 4x4 and the tow package. I wanted the electric locker and the 36 gallon tank. I pretty much got what I wanted and just had to add a trailer brake controller.

Looks, decent MPGs and most importantly high end features. I use buy XLTs but then spent to much to upgrade now. I buy KR or Platinum, more money up front but cheaper in the long run.
