I think fuse #15 would be better if the slot is occupied and active on your 2018 truck. I've speculated about it, but I don't think anyone has bothered to try it: https://www.f150forum.com/f118/morim...4/#post6031033
Yep, i did see your post. I haven't had time to go test your logic yet.. Prolly going to wait until spring (weather is super cold and bad now) as I have a switch-pro now that controls all of my add on lights including the DRL and I don't have to worry about it. I did this as I wanted to be able to have the option to run DRLs with my aftermarket grill lights with DRL being bright and.. if needed to have my truck running but have no lights on at all, this wasn't possible with them being hard-wired into the fuse box.. the DRLs would always be on if the truck was powered up.. So now I can control if I want all the lights off or on.

Default Please Help!

So I have ‘15 lariat with OEM halogens. I bought amber outline Morimotos. They look awesome, i love them,.... they just will NOT dim and are simply too bright at night.

I purchased from Stage 3 Motor sports. They have stopped helping me as Morimoto &TRS said the amber outline versions DO NOT DIM. (They are not designed to). So BC Morimoto said they aren’t supposed to dim... stage three said there is nothing wrong with lights and cannot return, swap, or further assist. The dilemma is... that several people on this forum have the amber ... and they dim with no issue. I spent about $1300 on lights that I’m stuck with.

I feel like I’ve tried all the things on this forum:

-dimming harness, flip auto/off several times, bypass top capacitor.... the only thing I didn’t Try was splicing any wires.

What have I not tried? Any advice? I’m hangin on to hope that I can get them to dim. I just feel stuck. Thanks in advance.

I'm sorry you are going through this bud. So what they are saying is that my Amber DRLs, by the fact that they dim when the headlights come on, are defective?

Essentially they are disregarding the fact that “some people’s” dim. *The trump card is that Morimoto said they aren’t designed to dim. So, it kinda stops everything in my favor. *I called Morimoto and they said same thing to me. *I showed stage 3 this forum and they basically said “yea well, i dunno.” *They keep going back to Morimoto and that*they “aren’t defective”.

Hey guys, can you all do me a big favor. for the 2018 XB headlight, could you all take some pics of the passenger side (R) bottom part of the light where the DRL runs along the outer housing.. I want to see if the DRL is flush in that track as it should be? The driver side is good on my truck. The passenger side i thought was good on my original headlight... The first replacement that i got has a DRL with a gap as it's not seated properly. I just got my replacement for this light and while it's not as bad as the second headlight (the one that's in there) the DRL is still not seated properly. Here is an example of the light where it's not seated properly Here are some pics for reference. Sorry for the salt spray that you see all over the front of my truck.. its winter time and impossible to drive without having a salt covered truck.

DRL not seated properly on passenger light

DRL not seated properly on passenger light

Driver side that looks just fine.

Looking for a little bit of advice. I recently installed the Morimoto XB LED's on my halogen stock 2017 f150. Everything is working fine except one thing. When I have my lights turned to auto, my DRL on the drivers side wont turn on when its day time. The passenger side works just fine. If I turn my headlights on, the drivers side DRL comes on and dims just like it should. It also works fine when I have the parking lights turned on. I have installed everything ask the instruction state to do and have used the fuse tap for the DRL's. I have also tried them with the DRL setting turned off on the dashboard cluster as well as turned on with the same result. Has anyone experienced this or know of a solution to it?

Thanks

Has anyone installed the signal correction adapter for the intermittent hyper flash signal issue? Did it work?

Thats strange. The only issue I had is the "not dimming with headlights on" problem but was fixed by swapping connections on one assembly. You might try going through the wheel well and checking your connections. Other than that, i'd say contact your dealer and see if they'll replace it.

I purchased a set of the amber outlined XB headlights from TRS back in November and haven’t installed them yet. They are shipping me the EMI harness as one didn’t come with it. I asked them for the dimming harness and was told it would not work because there wasn’t a board installed in the lights for the amber version. When I purchased the lights, I was told they were exactly the same as the white LED, the only difference was the color. We’ll see what happens when I install them.

I can confirm that the Amber Version does not dim. I have been in lengthy discussions with Matt @TRS about this. He stats that the Amber version was created for Raptors and apparently the OEM Raptor Amber outlines don't dim either. Apparently the Raptor runs with its parking lights on for 80% of the time which would signal the DRL to dim. I explained that my 17 Platinum came with Amber outline LED housings. They are over the top bright. I too expected the amber model to be the EXACT same as the white just different DRL color.
