Default More on the 2017 SuperDuty

Go further between pits stops as Ford gives SuperDuty a super sized fuel tank.

Hmm. I don't know why but I'm not excited about this. Something tells me it's a bad idea.

I remember my dad having dual tanks on a few trucks when I was a kid. Man would he get mad when I would jack around in the truck, flip the switch a few times and he couldn't remember which tank had fuel in it.

When I was a kid my parents had an old GMC dually with a 454 in it. It had dual gas tanks, and a 250lb propane tank for its dual fuel system.

For me its back when full serve gas was around...dudes used to run out thinking I was pumping gas on the ground... was cool though...gas was 45 cents a gallon!

I think the big tank is long overdue, but it appears to be on the longbed only. I don't see any mention of the shortbeds getting any upgrade, which doesn't make sense considering the space available under there. Shortbeds make up the significant majority of crew cab sales.

I've got the small tank and I get 440 miles out of it. I actually forget to check my fuel! Eventually, our fuel fill-ups will coincide with oil changes...
