5. The "cool factor" and shade can be closed and its the exact same as not having a sunroof at that point.
You're right here unless the moonroof works 100% and no issues. If you have at least one of these problems and can't be repaired yet permanently, probably you opted not to have it.

Too expensive. Too heavy. Too much heat. Too much glare. Too many leaks.
Pretty awsome feature though.

Too Much Weight:
I really doubt that it adds much weight over a non-moonroof model. I'd be shocked if it totaled 20 Lbs. most likely much less.

Too Much Heat:
For those that believe they feel radiant heat off the sunroof I believe they just like to whine. Again with the heat lately I just aim one of the vents on the center dash a bit toward the roof and magically it offsets the temp very well and this is without having the fan set any higher than I would normally. It has been in the low to mid 90's here for weeks and mine sits in the sun all day for 10+ hours. Takes less than 3-4 minutes to feel cool and comfortable when I head for home. About the same time it did in the 1994 Chevy C2500 Silverado that I couldn't get a Factory Power Sunroof in that I traded in for the F150.
In Fact, After a hard rain here here this morning the temp dropped to 85 and I just drove back home for over an hour with the truck opened up Moonroof, Dr & Pass Windows & Rear slider. Turned the Tunes up and it was GREAT!

Too Much Glare:
For Crying Out Loud, Mine came with a nifty little sliding panel that you can lift your little arm and ever so gently push forward to close it! BAM, Glare Magiclly Stopped!

Too Many Leaks: Damn am I lucky! I have owned 30 plus vehicles (5 Currently) with sunroofs since 1974 and NEVER had ANY problems with any of them and I use them constantly! Wish I had that kind of luck with Powerball!

I agree that the Moonroof may not be for everyone but if you are so against them then YOU shouldn't purchase one! Your Problem is solved! Just that easy.

But if you do have an issue just keep in mind that you are a Very Very Small minority in the overall scheme of things and the sky really isn't falling!

Too Much Weight:
I agree, not much different than without.

Too Much Heat & Glare:
When I tinted my windows I also had them tint both roof panels with the same ceramic tint and it has significantly reduced the head. I got 78% so it doesn't block much light but just enough with what is from the factory.

Too Many Leaks:
I have had a moon roof on all my trucks since 2001 and this one is no exception and it is great. No leaks and lets LOTS of light in which I love the most.

That's not bad. Figured it was easily over 100lbs.

And I am. The 64 Lbs. is for the double panel and mine is a single. While Automotive safety glass is heavy I am still surprised that the weight is what it is stated to be. Webasto is a customer of ours so I guess I could inquire about the weight of the module they ship to the auto manufacture.

Even if it is 64 Lbs I still do not consider that to be a negative factor when you boil it all down. I use my moonroof all the time and the instances where I may be approaching the gross vehicle weight of the truck are going to be few and very far between. So while the weight is somewhat surprising, it would not impact my decision to have one.

Thanks for digging up the facts! I learned something today!

No problem. True, none of the options are make or break by themselves.
