Default Moonroof giving trouble again

I've had my moonroof serviced already where they replaced brackets because it wouldn't open and sounded like it was about to shatter the glass. Well its doing it again. I guess I'll have to bring it in again before my warranty is up but its concerning. If this has happened twice, whats going to keep it from happening a 3rd and 4th after warranty is up? I know this is an issue with a lot of panoramic moonroofs. This will be my last moonroof

Let's say you take your truck in for this warranty work 3 times, but it still happens out of warranty. Will they still honor the fix because it was in for warranty a few times before it was out of warranty?

all depends on when the last fix was..Ford paid repairs carry a 12mo/12k mile service part coverage or balance of factory warranty whichever is greater

so as long as the brackets keep breaking within 12 months of the service performed Ford will continue to cover the cost?

no. It goes back to the original repair, if you have one replaced at 35,999 and it breaks again at 40 k 6 months later that should be covered BUT if that one then breaks 7 months later, that bill will be on you..warranty coverage only starts over when you pay for it

Its such a poorly designed roof. I had them replace the track in my over a year ago and all I do is open a close the shade. I will never buy another vehicle with a moon roof. The only bad thing is unless you get a base Lariat every trim level above has the roof come standard. Ford should make it an option in every trim level above an XL i.m.o.

You can get a platinum with no sun roof, granted you probably have to order one but they are optional

I made such a good deal on mine at the time I didn't care if it had the sun roof. Now, I'm regretting it

Ive already been in once for the rattle and they didnt even fix it properly. There is a TSB now i think so im going to take it back in but the ****ty part is i think they replace the ****ty broken oem tracks with the same but new ****ty oem tracks. I still couldnt give up the moon roof though but that might change if im paying for a repair
