Can you fix the knocking noise this way? When my roof is open it sometimes will bang against the other panel. I also would rather fix it myself then spin the roulette wheel on Ford techs. I've lost on that deal too many times..

So if I have to adjust the front moon roof I'm supposed to throw out the blinds after pulling then off?

I have a 2016 with bad moon roof rattle only when the panel is closed. I had TSB 16-0020 performed already at the dealer, but it hasn't helped and it's the only TSB out for the moon roof.

In one of the other threads there was mention that some dealer somewhere had realigned the moon roof panels and that solved the rattle. Unfortunately there was no description of how to make that adjustment or which dealer had made the repair, so I am also very interested in learning the procedure so I can permanently fix the darn thing.

If your rattle is coming from the passenger side approximately where the two panes of glass meet then there is no real fix other than replacing the entire roof track. I just had it done. My dealer had the truck for a few days trying to diagnose.

That sucks. Glad to hear Ford fixed yours though. You described exactly what I have, but I still think an alignment might be the cure because in the PDF's it shows that the glass should sit flush with the body and both panels are sitting a few mm above the roof line. I'm undecided if I want to try and align them myself on some afternoon or leave my truck at the dealer all week.

I tried aligning mine at least 10 times. The first couple times it would reduce the noise slightly, but it would always come back within a day. Good luck.

Thanks for the tip. I booked another appointment with my dealer so that I can have a record of my minor sunroof issues and trial repairs. I'm sure future F150 owners will find this entire thread useful.

As I mentioned previously, TSB-16-0020 didn't help my situation but whereas it's the only current TSB for the moon roof I attached it here anyway for the record.

I had rattle coming from passenger side. 2015 lariat with double glass moonroof. Just applied to pcs of tape, at the each end of the middle rail. Took for test drive, over the each pothole I could find. Rattle gone.

I can't see that fixing it. It might have just not reared its head yet. I had a rattle from passenger side and had to have my roof rack replaced.

I wondered about that too, I was looking for the part about replacing the discarded blinds
