Mirror tap on 2016 Lariat.

Wire colors appear different. You have to use the provided wires as you won't get power from a slot that has no wires. Just need to figure out which ones.

Ok just did the mirror tap on my 18 Limited and it went very smooth: The Black wire is your (HOT) and the Green is the (GROUND) and it comes on when you turn the truck on and Off when truck is off!! The detector DOES NOT go off when you go into reverse as I have heard around here, at least not mine!!

Dak,

You the MAN!!! I appreciate it. You have solved my riddle! One other question, i also have the R3, but i have noticed that the speed on it is WAAAY off compared to my trucks speed. It appears to react much slower than the K40 in my other car. Any thoughts or have you experience this?

Stay warm up North! Again thanks for the answer on the Mirror Tap!

All the reports are that most of the R3's are a few MPH off than the car speed for some reason! A great Detector Forum board that is one of the greatest, sign up and you will learn allot!!

Awesome thanks for the info! I had a kit for my passport max for my last truck i never installed. I found it when i cleared out the truck to trade in so I plan to do it for this truck.

Icecoldak, how hard was it to remove that connector from the mirror?

2-seconds! just like removing a phone jack, press the little plastic clip (in) and wiggle the connector out

Did you add those flat connectors to the end of your wires? I just looked at my kit and it’s just soldered ends. Not sure if that will be rigged enough to jam down in there?

Ok so naturally my wires are different from yours. I have a 18 xlt. My red is more brown and the wires are different colors in different slots.
