Default Mileage of a 2015 3.0 liter Eco bust pulling a travel trailer.

I'm just wondering if any of you have seen a noticeable increase in fuel consumption when pulling a travel trailer. I thought by buying a 3 liter eco-boost my mileage would be better than a 5.0 liter truck and the specs said I should be getting 21.5 liters per 100 kms or 14 miles per gallon, instead I get 8 miles per gallon. The trailer is 4900 pounds and I was getting 15 miles per gallon with the 5.0 liter engine. Anyone finding they're getting better gas mileage or is this the standard?

that is pretty standard, i had a 2015 5.0 with 35s and it got better fuel milage towing than my current 3.5 ecoboost with 33s.

When it's doing singnificant boost, the mileage will be worse. When not under boost, you get some eco. It's eco or boost.

If you want "good" mileage while towing, the superduty with the diesel is your friend.

As an aside, with 11,000 miles I'm showing 20.4 MPG overall (so figure reality is about 19.8) on my 2015 3.5L eco-boost.

Not knowing the size of your engine diminishes your credibility.

Making up childish nicknames for your engine shatters what was left of it…

I also call BS on getting 15MPG with a 4900lb. travel trailer and a 5.0. You might eek that out with a 6.7PSD. And maybe with a heavy but short trailer. But not with a giant sail like a travel trailer.

I agree, I have a hard time believing the 15MPG. I had a 2004 Duramax that got 19.5 unloaded but if I was pulling my 18' open car hauler with a tractor (~5000 lbs.) I would drop down to 12-13 MPG. No way a 5.0 is seeing that kind of mileage with a travel trailer.

Yup no way he's getting 15mpg pulling a trailer. My cummins pulling a car hauler and a buddies mustang averaged 12.6mpg with the cruise on 75mph.

He started off by talking about L/100k,so maybe he is saying 15 miles per Canadian gallon. Which is approx. 12 miles per U.S. gallon.
