i didn't do this for a heat reduction but if it helps with the brake dust then i'm all for it.

So you went and read up on a product you think is cheesy and fake just to come back here to dog him some more? Your humor isn't your problem.

Give the OP a break!!!

On a forum that has 92 pages of posts, in just one thread, dedicated to Plasti-Dip painted on trucks, how anyone can criticize the OP is beyond me.

Here, this thread should keep the busybody critics busy for a month.

Stupid question... but for someone who just wants to cut down on brake dust on the wheels, are there any cheap, metallic colored covers that will just blend in and not be too noticeable?

Default Wheel Spacers

If all you caliper cover installers read the instructions it mentions that some 3mm spacers might be needed and are sold on the website.

And no, I did not miss your point. I'm simply offering an exaggerated counterpoint to make mine. And here's another:

Don't be insulted by my opinion. I think Seattle is a terrible place to live, but to each their own. If you look at population studies in this forum, you'll find that most people think Seattle sucks.
You can certainly say that I have no proof that most people would find these cheesy. There is currently no known study out there to prove my point of people's preference on little colored hats for truck calipers. Carry on.

That's mean. There are some pretty nice appearance mods out there, I think these could be adapted to match the caliper covers easily. I've heard they improve aerodynamics to help gas mileage.

First thing is this.. Its your truck and you do what you want to do. As long as you like em that is what matters.

Now for my opinion since you asked. To me they make a nice truck look cheap. I don't care if they were 20bucks or 200 its looks like poop to me. I would rather paint the caliper as IMO it looks more professional (as long as the painting is done neatly and not just a messy coat of paint) and just plains looks better then these covers.

I'm sure they will work good to keep a lot of it from escaping. Nothing better then gummed up caliper pistons from dust build up, or the inability to wash them off cause there covered up. I will pass on em and let that nasty stuff not build up on a critical part of my vehicle under some covers

I'm sure the dust will escape out the back and won't gum up anything important.
