Default Maintenance Minder - Long Oil Change Gap?

Hi,

My 2015 has 19,000 miles. It has only had 1 oil change.

Maintenance minder currently shows 17% oil life left.

Sticker on windshield says oil should have been changed at 15,500 miles back in April.

Should I continue to trust the maintenance minder or trust the window sticker?

Thanks,

ft.

The oil life monitor. My first oil change was at 10,000. The OLM calculates towing, city/highway and other factors.

Yea, I would follow the oil life monitor. When the dealership did my last oil change they put a sticker that they wrote 15000 miles or so, I asked why they did not write it at 10,000 mile intervals like Ford recommends and they said they know better than Ford does and it should be done at 5,000 mile intervals. I checked the oil life monitor to make sure it had been reset and then took the sticker off. If I choose to change my oil earlier it will be my decision. I will probably do it at 15,000 miles anyway but this same service department failed to complete my first vehicle service with tire rotation because I was about 300 miles before the mileage stated to do it.

It'll be less if you run it hard, mine avgs round 9k per. change. 1st was at 10k though, I wasn't abusing it yet.

10,000 miles is an awful lot of revolutions on 6 qts. of oil---don't expect to get over 100K of trouble free miles at that pace. Just my 2 cents

I know what the monitor says, but I use full synthetic with a Motorcraft filter every 7,500 miles. I just don't trust 10,000 mile intervals with the amount of money I have invested in this beast. Just my .02. Obviously, do what you want with your money.

There is absolutely no evidence to support this statement. Just my 2 cents

I change my oil between 15 and 16,000 kms ((10,000 miles) and I have about 310,000km on the 3.5. No leaks, rattles, or noise. Oil has come a long way from the 60's.
