Magnaflow muffler install on a 2015 5.0
#41
I put a 12249 on with stock resonator in place this week. With 10sp 18 I get drone at 1500-1800....enough that I may go back to stock or try the 12279. Do you have any drone if you hold it at say 1700 rpm?

I don't know which one I have, it's a small ish Magnaflow muffler. 6 speed with 3.31 gears, no drone what so ever in 6th. But 5th on the highway is annoying. I have the stock resonator-back that I swap back and forth with the Magnaflow depending on how I feel. I have the stock muffler on more often than I do the Magnaflow.

The 12279 is 24" (actual muffler) and the 12249 is 18". The larger muffler completely eliminates drone. I cant even hear mine at cruise. Its just a tiny bit louder then stock at 2000 rpm. Go with the 12279

welds , magnaflow install
local shop installed magnaflow today.
I supplied the muffler. They added the extra pipe. $200 job. It sounds nice , low quiet rumble at idle and cruisong then nice louder growl when you step on it
wondering why not cut the stock pipe to correct lenght to fit the magnaflow muffler? why weld in an extra pipe? more strength?

Ooooof to their welding job. They couldn't use their equipment and expand one pipe a little to match up and weld better? damn. That's junk looking work :/ I'd be ashamed to call that my product if I was a shop......
