"Lot Rot"

I bought mine in August of this year. The build date is 10/16. I feel like it helped me get a good price..10k off sticker. No dealers in this area could beat the deal. Having said that, I've had no problems with the battery or tires. It has the pano roof and so far, so good on that. I did have to get the fuel pump replaced. I don't know if that was from sitting, but other than that one problem, it's been great. 4500 miles and counting.

It "might" be a problem (tire flat spots, crap battery) if it's been truly idle for a year or more. But forewarned is forearmed, you can try to do something about it before passing $. Mine had been on the lot around a year before I bought it. I made sure I was at the truck when they went to start it up and move it out from all the surrounding trucks before my test-drive (a large dealer, typically ~250 or more F150's on their lot at any given time). It fired right up, so hard to argue with them about giving me a replacement battery right then. But I flagged my concern on possible tire flat spots with the sales mgr and wanted him to tell me to my face if I ever even thought I had a tire problem they would road force balance at their expense; he agreed. Luckily after a thousand or so miles my tires seemed to be fine so that was the end of it.
Bought a cheapo '16 Fiesta at bargain basement price from the same dealer a couple months later. It too was around 1 year sitting on their lot. But that time before the test drive the car did NOT start (dead battery). I spoke up and they put a new battery in without any pushback. Had the same 'verbal' promise from the sales mgr on the tires. Luckily no vibration issues.

The only tire-related concern I'd throw out is that it is a year of UV exposure and age. Tires (even modern tires) get harder with age, and if you don't put enough miles on, you'll want to replace them before they wear out because performance degrades substantially, and even if that doesn't bother you, they will start getting dry-rot cracks and such.
If you drive a lot of miles in a year or plan to swap the tires anyhow, it doesn't really matter, but if you put on 5K a year and are happy to run HT tires, you might find that the tires reach retirement age before they run out of tread. Of course, if you drive that little, you're probably going to hit the tire-retirement age before running out of tread either way, it's just going to be a year sooner if the truck's been sitting for a year.

My truck was on the lot from the first of the year until I bought it in July. This is a non issue. Go get the truck you want and enjoy it.

There are times trucks sit idle for at least a couple months before they even make it to the dealership
If it sat for longer than half a year on the dealership lot.. is it really the truck or the dealership that's the issue?

Mine is a May 2016 build and I bought it with 13 miles on it in late January 2017. While playing with the instruments I discovered it had spent 2 hours idling during those 13 miles.

I'd be checking this truck sitting on a lot for a year out pretty hard. Not only might there be some sun-rot on all plastic and rubbery trim, i'd be concerned about the same gas sitting in that tank that long and paint damage due to bird droppings, especially on the roof that probably never gets washed. Many lots like to squeeze them in tight which might end up in door chips.
In the end, you should be able to pick it up at a good price.

My 2014 was a year old when I got it, had 113 miles on it, most of those were transit miles since it came from another dealer across the state. The only issues were sun fade on the black plastic parts, and the charging system needed an update as it kept displaying battery saver messages. They replaced the battery, updated the system, replaced the bed extender and that was the best running truck I ever had. Wish it didn't get wrecked. Loved that truck!
The tires I got 68K miles out of them, great tires.
