Exactly. Can a determined thief kill my dogs and still come in to the house. Sure, but why hassle with the two American Staffordshires when the house next door has nothing. This is exactly the thought behind car alarms, locks etc. Heck a good friend lived in Santa Ana and his car alarm would go off in his 1956 bug. We'd go down and scare of the kids trying for the stereo etc. He moved to Anaheim hills, nicer neighborhood, and one morning his car was gone with no alarm. Pros can always get around the locks etc. but they help with the amateurs.

UMMMMM, believe he's talking about a locking door covering the capless filler hole.......not physical door locks...
Reread.
and you wouldn't be breaking a window to steal gas.

As far as locking gas caps, it isn't only for theft prevention either. A while back another person was telling me about a guy who said he was mad at someone and asking about what can he can put into a vehicle's fuel tank to damage the engine.

Let me try to help you here. I believe his comparison was, if a thief can drill a hole in the fuel tank to steal gas, then he can just as easily break a window to steal items from the cab. So why lock either one?

American Muscle has one, only drawback to it is it is black and has a star logo on it. Which may not be that big of a drawback for some.
