Default Lock-Unlock Sequence "Locking up"

So, I changed all the lights on my truck to LEDs and when I unlock my truck, I have to wait a decent period of time before I can relock my truck again.....this affects the remote start I added that works off the lock/unlock buttons. When I unlock the truck, it just seems to "lock up" in the unlock mode with the lights on and not allow me to do anything with the key fob. I don't know if it is the key fob batteries cause if I just lock the truck, it works fine so I don't know if it's that.

This issue I dont think was here when I bought the truck. So it's either been the key fob use over time (batteries) or the LED lights that I added not drawing enough current leaving the lights on longer.

Is this something I can adjust in Forscan? Either reduce the time that the lights are on with the unlock or be able to override the unlock sequence with the lock button on the fob? I'm pretty sure these settings are in the BCM....but looking at the spreadsheet, I don't know which ones?

This is especially annoying when I need to get something out of my truck in a hurry and have to wait until I can lock my truck again. I hit the lock button and nothing and won't lock until the lights go off from unlocking.

Does it do it if you hit the lock button on the drivers door panel?

Interested to see if anyone knows the cause of this. My truck does the same to the point where my remote start isn't very useful anymore.

From a distance, I hit lock (this works), unlock (this works), then lock (no buttons on my key fob work at this time). At this point I have to get really close to my truck for the key fob to work. I've even replaced the batteries in my fob, but it didn't make any difference.

Still an issue with the Lock-Unlock sequence whether you have remote start or not.....I haven't checked using the lock button on the door. I feel this is something simple and at worst a faulty BCM, which I hope not.

Also, does anybody know how to change the Lock-Unlock on Forscan so the doors unlock once the truck is in park rather than having to shut the engine off and open the driver side door?

Thanks-

So if I understand correctly, none of buttons on your keyfob are working once your LED lights are on, right?

Maybe the LED lights are generating interference and blocking the transmitter in your key fob? That would explain why it doesn't work until the lights are off. Quick way to test it would be to turn the lights on manually, then see if any of the buttons on the fob respond.

I confirmed that this is only with the key fob.....I have a keypad and tested it and pressing the bottom two numbers immediately locks it unlike the key fob. I even tried to hit the unlock button multiple times to "confuse" it and still unlocked with the key fob.

If the LEDs are causing interference, I guess what I want to do is make the lights on the unlock sequence turn off sooner.......what would I change in ForScan for this? OR have it not turn all the lights on until a door is opened?

What you want accomplish with Forscan is either not discovered or not possible.
The issue with the lights staying on is not issue with key fob not working, something is causing the BCM to either lock up or it's waiting for something to happen. The BCM is just responding your key press turning the lights on. When the timer runs out then things happen.

i know for a FACT this is an issue in garage door openers... i replaced my burnt out bulbs with nice neat LED bulbs and the garage door remotes would only work about 2 feet from the thing hanging from the ceiling. LED bulbs do create radio interference.
