I'm not very well educated on how check valves work or anything like that. I might actually do it though just in case. Any warranty issues with doing that though?

Gotcha. My dealer hasn't said anything about warranty, I'll ask next time I'm there, my guys are pretty decent, and I can't imagine them being concerned. Maybe a dealer with OCD might try to, but then they have to prove it caused a problem.
I have thought about buying the new updated valve and hose assembly, and replacing the hose I had to cut to put the second one in, that's my OCD though. Likely I should get it just to satisfy my paranoia as well.

I personally think having a back up check valve already installed is great. Seems unlikely that both will fail at the same time.

Yep yep, that's the thinking I was using when I did that.
As an aside, the 2 valves I used are not the OEM ones, these are YG360 valves, still a Ford item, but not the same as the ones they were replacing then, and there were a number of failures with the OEM replacements. The new updated ones, I haven't heard of any failures, but that doesn't mean there hasn't been. Just have to wait and see.

Just a quick update to close the loop on my situation. Dealer replaced both IWEs and check valve under powertrain warranty today. No questions asked - Based on some of the stories I read here, I'm extremely grateful to have a great dealership. Issue seems to be resolved, no more groaning/rubbing when hitting the brakes coming to a stop while in 2HI.

Fwiw, they confirmed they've been doing a lot of them lately and said they haven't had any back since performing the new TSB. Fingers crossed!

I've replaced everything so far except the actuators. Is the part shown in the picture an IWE?

Yes, that is an IWE. Good price if it's indeed an OEM.

Everything I've ever ordered from Tasca has been OEM. Just like going to the dealership but easier. Thanks!!
