I also debated on a 4" & 6" and I ended up going with a 6" rough country lift with 22x12 wheels mounted on 35's Toyo R/T tires. My truck still drives good after the lift. Tires rub a little with u-turns & mpg's went down about 2-3. Overall....I'm glad I went with the 6"
My next upgrade will be a set of fox shocks.
Looks Sick! Is it a 2WD and what is the offset on those wheels -44?
I know everybody hates on the Rough Country lifts but is there any substance behind that other than they are cheap and basic? We all have opinions, I was one to turn my nose up at them in the past, but I have yet to find anybody who has had a failure or issues with the lift. I know it is a true 4" stretched to 6" but other than that I can't seem to find any real flaws and it seems like a hell of a value with a lifetime warranty on parts.
I am notorious for over building by trucks to the point they aren't enjoyable to daily drive anymore so I am seriously considering the RC lift because I just want a simple lift to run 35's with as a nice beefy daily.
Right now there is a forum member having issues with his RC lift and trying to find out how to resolve his tie rod from rubbing on his coil spring which is causing popping when he turns. This is a dealer installed lift.
I am completely satisfied with my RC 6" lift, and to date have had no issues. Also, my tie rods are no where near touching the coil springs.
Will you post a picture of your truck at full turn where the tie rod and coil spring would be in contact, because I am the guy he is referring to. I was told by rough country themselves and the installer that it would not harm anything because it is at full turn and only contacts the boot a little. So I would like to see how far your coil spring is above the tie rod. They did a realignment and a retorque on the lift on all the bolts do the popping noise is gone for now. But it still touches the boot of the tie rod. As the picture below shows.
But other than that here is my rough country it ride great. And when I can figure this tie rod thing out I will be happy with it. I may just end up with some coil overs to fix it
Truck looks great, hope they can help with your tie rod concerns. If his are farther away then it would confirm that the lift was improved from the original design to address the issue. Good luck
