Default LED Reverse Options w/BLIS

I have a 17 Lariat with BLIS and want to improve the backup lights. It is my understanding from reading hundreds of posts s that there is no LED plug and play option for trucks with BLIS?

Can someone shed some light on possible solutions or what they have done? Will improving the Cargo LED's help much? Thanks!

The BLIS-equipped tail lamp on the Lariat is already LED and it is a sealed unit, so you can't change bulbs without breaking open the assembly. I want more light when reversing, too. I'm considering the Rigid LED flush mount lights to mount in my rear bumper. There's a thread on it here. Some have mounted lights under the truck on the rear shock mount (there's a "tab" that sticks up and is ideal for mounting a light). Hope that helps.

The Rigid lights are a rather expensive option. With the harness, they will run about $200? Seems light a lot for LEDS's?

The stock LED's are just not bright enough and have a very shallow throw, MHO.

I agree. The Rigid lights are about $250 a pair from what I've found and come with a harness and switch and can also be tapped to the reverse lights. There are also cheaper versions you can find on ebay or amazon. I found some for $40ish dollars, but you get what you pay for, too.

I went with rigid reverse light kit. Mounts underneath the truck tucked up out of site. Lights the driveway awesome as well as made Ford's cheap camera work well at night

Could you explain how and where you spliced in the wiring? Also, where and how you mounted them?

Thanks, I may need to make the plunge.

It would be nice to mount them somewhat close to the front of the bumper to get the best spread and throw.

Anyone have pictures of how and where they have mounted these external LEDS's in the back of their rigs?

I cant search because mobile search stinks, but there are threads with rigid reverse lights. Here's a couple quick shots.they sell a kit that runs power right off the battery with a reverse trigger. Not needed, I tapped the center wire on my trailer hitch that is triggered by reverse, the ground went right to a ground bolt near the hitch. I did run a wire to a dash toggle to turn it off or left an option to run 12vts to it to turn on /off / or automatically with reverse
